Soundbase vs Soundbar ? Which One?

How to decide between a Soundbase or Soundbar?

A Soundbase or Soundbar is the easiest way to enhance the quality of sound from your flatscreen television without installing  a surround sound system with 6 speakers and all the associated cabling.

What is a Soundbase or Soundbar for?

Many people don’t have the space for a home cinema system and often don’t want one either.  They just want to get decent sound from their TV but find that they don’t get this from the built in tv speakers.

Should I choose a Soundbase?

So take a look at where your TV is set up. If it’s on a unit then you can place a Soundbase underneath it and it will take up hardly any room at all.

Even if your TV is wall mounted, chances are that you’ve got some kind of unit underneath that houses your streaming box, cable box, bluray player etc. and if so, your soundbase will fit nicely on this.

Sound bases are very space efficient because all the speakers are built right into the single unit so once its in place and hooked up to your TV, that’s it.

Or Should I choose  Soundbar?

SoundBars, on the other hand, will often consist of two units – the bar that site in front of, or under, your tv and a sub-woofer speaker that is a separate unit that is usually placed on the floor.  One thing to be careful of is that the soundbar doesn’t cover the InfraRed receiver for your TV remote.  This can sometimes happen if you don’t check the profile and dimensions of a soundbar before you select your model.
